Burkeville, Texas set the scene for one of the Southeast’s biggest off-road events: Mud Nationals 2025 at Sabine ATV Park. Thousands of UTV and ATV riders gathered for a long weekend of trail riding, mud challenges, and gear showcases. And Rough Country was right there in the mix, checking in on one of the most energized corners of the powersports world.

More Than Just a Ride Through the Mud

Mud riding may be a niche in the broader UTV market—especially compared to utility, hunting, and farm use—but it’s a strong scene that creates a lot of hype and draws a serious following. This year’s event was a clear reminder of that.

We were at Mud Nationals in 2023, and coming back gave us a chance to reconnect with riders, see how the category is evolving, and get direct feedback from customers. There’s nothing like being on the ground, seeing what people are building and how they’re using their rigs in the real world.

What We Showed at the Booth

We brought out a loaner 2025 Can-Am Defender HD10 XT Max to anchor our booth. It was riding on stock suspension, wheels, and tires, which gave us a clean slate to highlight several of our current UTV accessories:

  • Electric Tilt Windshield
  • Roof Rack
  • Over Bed Cargo Rack
  • 8-Gang MLC (Multi-Light Controller)
  • Laser Whip Lights

Originally, we had planned to bring out our RC CFMoto UForce build, but that project’s still in development. We’ve got more coming for that platform soon.

What the Community Had to Say

Talking with riders gave us solid insight into what people are interested in—and where we’re seeing momentum in the market.

Standout Products from the Weekend:

  • Laser Whip Lights – These caught a lot of attention on the trails after dark. People came by specifically to check them out after seeing them in action.
  • Tool Roll – Simple, effective, and well-received. A lot of folks appreciated the practical organization.
  • Light Bars & Pods – Still our most frequently spotted gear on UTV builds across the event.
  • Axles – A few attendees running our axles told us they preferred them over Super ATV’s—calling out both durability and price as key reasons.

Trends & Takeaways

ATVs were out in force—possibly even outnumbering UTVs—but either way, both groups showed up with solid builds and serious passion. Tow rigs built with Rough Country truck suspension were everywhere, and it was great to see our gear not only on the trails but also in the haulers getting them there. Brand awareness is clearly growing. Compared to 2023, more attendees recognized Rough Country’s UTV gear, and many were already running our products. Still, quite a few were surprised to learn just how deep we are in the UTV game—so there’s still plenty of room to keep spreading the word.

Final Thoughts

Mud Nationals 2025 wasn’t just about getting dirty—it was about getting dialed in with the off-road community. This event continues to be a great place to see where trends are headed, connect with real riders, and hear firsthand how our products are performing.

We’re taking everything we learned and using it to fuel what’s next—more innovation, more platform support, and more ways to help off-roaders get the most out of every ride.
